ARTICLE 1 – APPLICATION
The present general conditions of sale are applied in full to the sale and issue by FRANCE GALOP – the governing body of French horse racing – of tickets granting the public access to race meetings and other events organised within the racecourse grounds.
ARTICLE 2 – DEFINITIONS
Purchaser: Any person who purchases a ticket for their person and/or on behalf of a third person.
Ticket-holder: Any person, whether they are the purchaser or not, who is in possession of a ticket.
Ticket: A palpable or non-palpable document, nominative or otherwise, issued by FRANCE GALOP or one of its approved distributors, granting access to the Site on the day of the Event.
Event: Race meeting or any other type of equestrian event organised by FRANCE GALOP within the racecourse grounds.
France Galop: The governing body of French horse racing – head office: 46 place Abel Gance – 92655 BOULOGNE Cedex – FRANCE – Website: www.france-galop.com.
Racecourse: Longchamp, Chantilly, Maisons-Laffitte, Auteuil, Saint-Cloud or Deauville Racecourse.
Sales Point: Ticket sales handled by FRANCE GALOP or one of its approved distributers.
Site: Grounds of the Racecourse and, where necessary, any area situated outside of the Racecourse that FRANCE GALOP has made available for use by the public for parking or other services.
Event Website : Refers to the website https://www.evenements.france-galop.com/fr, published by France Galop
ARTICLE 3 – TICKET ORDERS AND PURCHASES
3.1 – Ticket orders and purchases imply the full, unreserved adhesion by the Purchaser and the Ticket-holder to the present general conditions of sale, as well as the bylaws of the Racecourse to which the Ticket grants access.
3.2 – Ticket orders and purchases can be carried out exclusively with FRANCE GALOP or one of the distributers approved by FRANCE GALOP, a list of which can be viewed on the website billetterie.france-galop.com
3.3 – Ticket orders and purchases can be carried out directly with FRANCE GALOP at the Sales Points set up at Racecourse entrances or in any other place that might be designated, as well as on the website billetterie.france-galop.com
3.4 – Any order placed online will be saved under the identity of the Purchaser.
FRANCE GALOP reserves the right, for orders made at the Sales Points mentioned in § 3.3, and taking into consideration the Event to which they apply, to gather information regarding the identity of the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder and decide whether or not to issue nominative Tickets.
3.5 – The number of Tickets available for purchase by one sole Purchaser cannot exceed 10 units. FRANCE GALOP reserves the right to alter this limit depending on the Event, the Site’s capacity and/or any other constraint involved with the organisation of the Event.
The preceding stipulations also apply to companies.
3.6 – Any Ticket orders made by a company must be made to benefit its members and representatives or its personnel, and are strictly for internal use only.
3.7 – FRANCE GALOP reserves the right to suspend or stop the sale of Tickets for any reason that the Event’s organisers might give.
3.8 – The issuing of Tickets is covered by the scope of application of the provisions of article L 121-21-8-12e of the French Consumer Code.
Consequently, the Ticket Purchaser or the Ticket-holder is unable to exercise their right to rescind, which is applicable to contracts agreed remotely, as detailed in articles L 121-21 and following of the French Consumer Code.
ARTICLE 4 – TICKET PRICES
4.1 – The price of the Tickets is set by FRANCE GALOP.
FRANCE GALOP determines the conditions in which special prices, discounts or free access to the Site might be granted.
4.2 – The pricing of Tickets gives rise to the application of a price list which can be consulted at the Sales Points, on the website billetterie.france-galop.com, or can be requested from the FRANCE GALOP Ticketing Service (46 place Abel Gance – 92100 Boulogne Billancourt) or via the Hotline 0 892 97 2000. This price list is established according to the Event and, where necessary and in particular regarding the services proposed, the Ticket-holder and category of ticket concerned.
4.3 – All payments must be made upfront.
4.4 – Payment at the Sales Points can be made by any method (cash, French cheque, bank card), depending on applicable legislation and except in the event that FRANCE GALOP requires payment in cash for amounts inferior to the minimum limit that has been set.
FRANCE GALOP may request the right money for payments made in cash.
FRANCE GALOP reserves the right to ask to see proof of identity for any payment made by cheque or bank card.
4.5 – Online payments can be made by bank card, as detailed on the website billetterie.france-galop.com
ARTICLE 5 – TICKET ISSUE AND USE
5.1 – The purchase of Tickets gives rise to the issue of a palpable or non-palpable support showing, most notably, information about the Event and the price of the Ticket as well as, where necessary, the category of seat and the name of the Ticket-holder.
5.2 – Access to the Site is granted upon presentation of said support as well as, for all nominative Tickets, the Ticket-holder’s proof of identity.
Access to the Site will be refused to all holders of a nominative Ticket whose proof of identity is found to be irregular or does not match the details shown on the Ticket.
5.3 – For the application of the present general conditions of sale, any person having been granted access to the Site after presenting a Ticket is considered to be the Purchaser or the Ticket-holder.
5.4 – The Purchaser or Ticket-holder is prohibited from selling, exchanging or conceding, free of charge or in exchange for payment, any Ticket in their possession, be it nominative or not.
They are prohibited from using the Ticket as a support or accessory for any commercial, promotional or advertising activity.
5.5 – Tickets will not be taken back or exchanged.
They will not be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or destroyed.
The interruption, postponement or cancellation of a race, competition or subsidiary event, or any one-off incident that disrupts, either directly or indirectly, the smooth-running or organisation of the Event, will not give rise to any exchange, refund or compensation.
5.5 – In the event of the cancellation of an Event, and if said Event has not been moved to a different date, time and/or venue chosen by FRANCE GALOP, Tickets will be refunded at their purchase price, with the exclusion of any other costs or compensation.
All information regarding the postponement of an Event or, where necessary, information regarding the cancellation and refund conditions will be made available to the public via the appropriate methods of communication.
ARTICLE 6 – DISCIPLINE AND SECURITY
Access to the Site implies the acceptance of the bylaws there applicable, whose stipulations can be viewed at the Site entrance or upon request made to the FRANCE GALOP Ticketing Service (46 place Abel Gance – 92100 Boulogne Billancourt), or by email: billetterie@france-galop.com
Without prejudice to the stipulations of said bylaws, any person that refuses to adhere to the established security measures or whose behaviour is of a nature that creates a risk to the tranquillity and safety of the public, or is likely to have a detrimental effect, in any way whatsoever, on the organisation or smooth-running of the Event or the image and reputation of FRANCE GALOP and/or its sponsors and partners, may be refused access or be removed from the Site by FRANCE GALOP security personnel with the back-up, if necessary, of the police.
The barring or eviction of a person from the Site as detailed above will not give rise to the refund of Tickets or any compensation whatsoever.
ARTICLE 7 – DATA PROTECTION
7-1 Identity of the data processing manager and subcontractors
FRANCE GALOP agree to respect all the obligations included in updated French law no.78-17 of 6th January 1978, regarding data-processing, data files and individual liberties, as well as all applicable French and European legislation regarding this subject, namely Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27th April 2016, applicable as of 25th May 2018.
To make a request to exercise their rights, the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder should contact FRANCE GALOP by email at the address “contact-data-protection@france-galop.com” and/or by writing to the following address: FRANCE GALOP – 46, place Abel Gance – 92 655 Boulogne cedex (Hauts de Seine), FRANCE.
FRANCE GALOP take all the necessary measures to ensure the protection and confidentiality of any personal information that they receive and/or process.
Any personal information about the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder is subjected to data processing by FRANCE GALOP and by its subcontractors:
- The subcontractor that hosts the ticketing website processes the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal information to enable the website to function correctly.
- A subcontractor automatically sends out text messages to the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder concerning the services and products purchased by the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder on the ticketing website (order reminders).
- A subcontractor automatically sends out emails to the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder concerning the services and products purchased by the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder on the ticketing website (order reminders).
- The subcontractor that manages the online payment solution processes the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal information to enable the transactions to go through correctly.
- A subcontractor processes the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal data to enable FRANCE GALOP to offer services and products that match the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s interests.
- A subcontractor processes the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal data to monitor the website’s access and thus enable FRANCE GALOP to offer services and products that match the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s interests.
7-2 Data processed and processing methods
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal data that is collected and stored by FRANCE GALOP and its potential subcontractors is the data collected when the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder creates their ticketing account and buys products and services via the ticketing website.
When they create their ticketing account, the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder is invited to provide certain information. If they fail to fill in the required fields on the registration form (marked with an asterisk *), they will not be able to create a ticketing account or purchase products or services from the ticketing website.
7-3 Legal grounds and the purpose of data-processing
The legal grounds for this data-processing is to comply with the Terms and Conditions of Sale (T&C) agreed between the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder and FRANCE GALOP.
The purpose of this processing is as follows:
• To enable the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder to create, manage and modify the information in their ticketing account, which is required for the purchase of products and services on the ticketing website.
• To improve the ticketing website’s content
• To enable the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder to benefit from the services available on the Event WebsiteTo improve the ticketing website’s content
• To draw up audience statistics
• To enable the ticketing website to function correctly.
If the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder has agreed to receive newsletters and commercial offers from FRANCE GALOP, the legal grounds for processing their data is based on the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder authorising their data to be processed for this specific purpose. The purpose of this processing is as follows : to enable the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder to sign up for specific services (newsletter, receipt of commercial offers) and to offer services and products that match the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s interests. This authorisation can be withdrawn at any time, via the “unsubscribe” hypertext link displayed at the bottom of the aforementioned newsletters and commercial offers, or by writing to FRANCE GALOP at the addresses given in the previous section.
7-4 Retention period
The data collected when the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder browses the Website is stored in the European Union, in a secure technical environment, for a duration of thirteen (13) months after its collection. At the end of this period, the data is removed from all of FRANCE GALOP’s active databases and, if necessary, those of its subcontractors.
The data collected when the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder creates and uses his Account is stored in the European Union, in a secure technical environment, until the Account is not deleted. When the Account is deleted, the data is removed from all of FRANCE GALOP’s active databases and, if necessary, those of its subcontractors. The Account is deleted after a period of inactivity (not signing into their Account using their login codes and not accessing their personal Account, not clicking on any hypertext links in a FRANCE GALOP email, no information requests sent by email) in the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s Account equal to three (3) years.
If the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder has agreed to receive newsletters and commercial offers from FRANCE GALOP, the data collected is stored in the European Union, in a secure technical environment, for a duration of three (3) years after his last contact (signs in using their login codes and visits their personal account, clicks on a content hyperlink in an email from FRANCE GALOP, asks for information by email). At the end of this period, and if the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder has failed to make contact, the data is removed from all of FRANCE GALOP’s active databases and, if necessary, those of its subcontractors.
7-5 Individual rights

The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder is informed that FRANCE GALOP may be required to communicate the personal information collected via the services offered on the Website to administrative and legal authorities who are authorised to search for a person responsible for an offense, while strictly adhering to the statutory requirements.
Right of access, right of rectification, right to erasure
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder may also read, change or delete the personal information supplied at any time (via “My account” > “Settings”) and thus exercise their right to access, rectify or delete this information in their user account or by writing to the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article.
Right to object
In accordance with current regulations, the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder may oppose the processing of their personal information by exercising their right to oppose. To do this, the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder must contact FRANCE GALOP at the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article. FRANCE GALOP will no longer process the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal information, unless there is a legitimate or urgent reason to process this information which prevails over the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s interests and rights and liberties, or, for ascertainment, to exercise or defend legal rights.
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder understands that, by agreeing to receive commercial offers, they authorise their data to be stored by FRANCE GALOP, and be used for this purpose. They also understand that they have the right to oppose that their personal data be used for such an end. This right can be exercised by writing to FRANCE GALOP at the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article.
If the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder has agreed to receive newsletters and commercial offers from FRANCE GALOP, FRANCE GALOP will makes and advertising profiling of the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder (age, geography, purchases) which allows to offer services and products that match the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s interests. The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder may oppose the advertising profiling set for newsletters and commercial offers by contact FRANCE GALOP at the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article.
At least, FRANCE GALOP makes a segmentation of his Purchasers and/or Ticket-holders (age, geography, purchases) for optimize and improve his relations with his customers and Purchasers and/or Ticket-holders. The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder may oppose the segmentation at any time by contact FRANCE GALOP at the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article. FRANCE GALOP will no longer process the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal information, unless there is a legitimate or urgent reason to process this information which prevails over the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s interests and rights and liberties, or, for ascertainment, to exercise or defend legal rights.
Right to data portability
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder may exercise their right to data portability by writing to FRANCE GALOP at the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article. The only data covered by the data portability right is the data provided actively and consciously by the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder, i.e. the information given to access the service offers on the Website (by creating an Account, filling on online forms, email correspondence, etc.) but also the data generated by the activity of the person concerned when using the Website (IP address, Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder interests, etc.).
Right to restriction of processing
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder may exercise their right to restriction of processing by writing to the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article. FRANCE GALOP will no longer process the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder’s personal information and will store it during the time of check/examination of the exercicse of another right (access, object…).
Right to decide on the fate of its data after its death
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder can define directives relative to the fate of the data after death by writing to FRANCE GALOP at the addresses given at the beginning of this present Article.
Right to complaint to the regulatory authority
Without prejudice to any other administrative or legal recourse, the Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder has the right to make a complaint to the regulatory authority, particularly in the member State in which their habitual residence is located, their workplace or the place where the violation was committed, if they deem that the processing of their personal data constitutes a violation of their rights. In France, the authority that regulates personal data-processing is the CNIL.
7-6 Video surveillance
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder is informed that, for their security, the Racecourse is equipped with a video surveillance system, whose images may be used in the event of judicial proceedings.
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder has the right to access these images, in accordance with the provisions set out in article L253-5 of the French National Security Code. This right can be exercised by writing to the following address: FRANCE GALOP – 46, place Abel Gance – 92 655 Boulogne cedex (Hauts de Seine), FRANCE, or by email at the address “contact-data-protection@france-galop.com”.
These recordings are retained by France GALOP for a period of one (1) month.
ARTICLE 8 – PERSONALITY RIGHTS
The Purchaser and/or Ticket-holder grant France Galop – free of charge, worldwide and for the maximum legal duration – the right to record, use, exploit and represent their image and voice, on any known or future support in relation with the event and/or with any other event-related operation and/or for the promotion of the Racecourses, of France Galop and/or of its partners, such as photographs, live broadcasts on giant screens, live or recorded television broadcasts, digital media, social media, video or audio programmes and/or recordings, or any other existing methods or methods that may become possible in the future due to technical developments. France Galop reserve the right to transfer these rights to the third-party contractor of their choice.
ARTICLE 9 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Purchaser and the Ticket-holder agree not to carry out any recording whatsoever on the Site for commercial or promotional purposes, by video, camera or any other means.
All recordings made on the Site are strictly reserved for personal use, and must not be disclosed to an audience or conceded to a third party either free of charge or in exchange for payment.
ARTICLE 10 – APPLICABLE CONDITIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF BETTING VOUCHERS
In order to Purchase a Betting Voucher, the Purchaser must be over the age of 18 and be legally capable of entering into contracts and using the Event Website as per the present Terms and Conditions.
The Betting Voucher Service is intended only for the Smarturf service provided by the Carrus SAS group, which has a capital of 22,500,000 euros and is registered with the Paris Trades and Companies Register under number 524.452.232, 808, and whose registered offices are at 30, rue des Petits Hôtels 75010 PARIS. Accordingly, only the Terms and Conditions of Use of the Smarturf service apply to this Service, and not the present Terms and Conditions.
Smarturf is an anonymous digital wallet that allows horseracing bets to be pre-paid without the bettor needing to supply their identity details. Smarturf is only designed for use on the racecourse, using a smartphone, via a web portal that can be accessed using the ParisLongchamp racecourse WiFi network at the address hippo.smarturf.fr
Subscribing to the Betting Voucher Service allows the Purchaser to buy credit for their Smarturf account in a completely anonymous way, without providing any personal details.
When subscribing to the Service, the Purchaser has the option of depositing an amount of between 50 and 100 euros into their Smarturf digital wallet.
After choosing how much they wish to deposit in the Smarturf web application when subscribing to the Betting Voucher Service, the Purchaser will be sent an email to the address provided when they registered for the Service, containing their unique 6-character username which they must give when signing into their Smarturf account.
Once their account has been validated, betting operations can only be made using the Smarturf web application.

Please note that the Smarturf web application is under the authority of the Carrus group. In this respect, the reception and processing of any complaints does not imply France Galop’s endorsement of said complaints. France Galop will ensure any complaints are transferred to the Carrus group as per the conditions and limits set out in the terms and conditions. France Galop may in no way be held responsible for any failure to execute or unsatisfactory execution of the Services provided by the Carrus group.
ARTICLE 11 – PUBLICATION OF THE GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SALE
The present general conditions of sale will be communicated upon written request sent to the FRANCE GALOP Ticketing Service (46 place Abel Gance – 92100 Boulogne Billancourt)
They can also be downloaded from the website billetterie.france-galop.com
Excerpts from the present GCS are displayed on the Tickets issued at the Sales Points by FRANCE GALOP and its approved distributers, and a full version of the conditions is available at the same Sales Points.
ARTICLE 12 – DISPUTES
The present general conditions of sale are governed by French law.
Any dispute concerning the application, opposability, validity, interpretation and/or application of the present conditions, or regarding the sale of Tickets, will be assigned to the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal of Versailles.
The original Contract is written in French. In the event of any discrepancy between the original French text and this English translation, the French text shall be used to resolve any doubts arising in respect of interpretation and/or application.
