An exceptional sporting event awaits you on Sunday 5 July, featuring the finest horses in French flat racing! The 2026 edition promises to be particularly spectacular, with the confirmed appearance of Calandagan, voted the world’s best racehorse at the end of the 2025 season.
On the programme for the day: the Saint-Cloud Grand Prix (part of the Arc Races series), a painting competition, a picnic lunch and plenty of activities for children – all completely free. The perfect way to kick off the summer!

Painting contest

Artists, pick up your brushes!

For one day only, the Saint-Cloud racecourse transforms into an open-air artist’s studio!

On Sunday 5th July, artists registered for the painting competition will be able to set up at the racecourse from 9:00am to begin their work.

Inspired by the setting and the spectacle of horse racing, participants must complete their piece by 4:30pm to submit it for judging.

A jury will evaluate the entries and award prizes.

The world’s best racehorse is French and will be lining up at the start of the Saint-Cloud Grand Prix!

The French phenomenon Calandagan, crowned the world’s best horse at the end of the 2025 season – a season marked by a resounding victory in the legendary Japan Cup – is set to make his grand return to the track in France. His appearance at the start of the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud, which he won in 2025, promises to be a sporting highlight at one of the major events on the horse racing calendar. For his French supporters, the stakes are high: this could be their only chance to see this extraordinary champion compete on home soil. An event not to be missed!

New for 2026!

To celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse in China, you are invited to take part in the creation of a large collective mural alongside a Chinese artist. This original activity will give everyone the opportunity to leave their mark on this exceptional day.

To discover the world of horses, what could be better than the gentle and patient nature of ponies? Treat your children to a lovely first experience learning about our four-hooved friends, as they stroke them and go for a little ride.

Hop on the merry-go-round for a magical ride on our beautiful carrousel horses. A sure-fire hit with young racegoers, this attraction is free of charge and children can ride as many times as they like.

To make their day at the races even more exciting, children are invited to join the jockeys in the parade ring. A fantastic way to experience the thrill of the spectators’ applause alongside their favourite jockeys. Pure emotion guaranteed!

These new-generation rocking horses take children on a magical ride! A safe introduction to horse riding, to set them on the path to becoming real jockeys.

Grab a booklet and embark on a treasure hunt that takes you on a tour of the racecourse! With its racing-themed games, this mission requires all of your family’s investigation skills to solve the puzzle.

With our bouncy castles, your children can jump, run and roll to their hearts’ content! We pull out all the stops to provide your children with plenty of opportunities to play and relax at the racecourse.

HORSESHOE DECORATING

At our “Blacksmith” workshop, young apprentices are invited to let their creative juices flow. The budding artists can customise horseshoes with ribbons, glitter, ink stamps and many other surprises.
The children will sit at a table to decorate their horseshoes and can take their creation home with them.

GIANT COLOURING POSTER

On every Family Race Day, a giant horse-themed poster will be laid out for the children. Using colouring pencils, the children are invited to help bring this poster to life.

Dive into the world of horse racing with our mascot, Lili the Unicorn! On each event date, children will have the chance to meet this magical creature and share unforgettable moments at the racecourse with the whole family. Come and meet her!

It’s time for the racecourse gates to open, and is also time for the entertainment and refreshments to start.

What would the famous “Déjeuner sur l’herbe” be without the quintessential picnic?
Enjoy your picnic while taking in the thrilling spectacle of horse racing, with your feet in the grass and plenty of space all around on the wide open grounds of the racecourse.

To complement your picnic, a wide range of food options will be available: burgers, hot dogs, crêpes, waffles, ice cream, candyfloss, sweets, and much more!

The races are run every 30 minutes.

The jockeys come out into the parade ring, accompanied by children (free registration required at the treasure hunt activity welcome desk).

THE MAIN EVENT OF THE DAY!
Head to the parade ring (05.10 pm), then to the course to watch the champions race in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.

The day's main race

The Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud is reserved for experienced racehorses aged 4 and over. It is run over the classic mile-and-a-half distance, just like the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the world’s greatest horse race.

For these top-class racehorses, the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud is a warm-up for this major international event, which will be held, as every year, at ParisLongchamp racecourse.

The Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud is part of the Arc Races circuit, a selection of the finest French races whose winners receive a true golden ticket – a Wild Card entry to the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the most iconic race in world flat racing.

Through eight prestigious races, France Galop offers a captivating journey leading up to the Arc, with direct entry to the “World Championship of Thoroughbreds” and reimbursement of the race entry fees at stake. A unique initiative designed to keep the excitement building throughout the season.
