The year 2026 marks a new edition of the Arc Races: a selection of the finest French races offering their winners a true golden ticket — a Wild Card for the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the most iconic race in world flat racing, whose next edition will take place at ParisLongchamp on Sunday 4th October 2026.

Through eight prestigious races, France Galop offers a captivating journey towards the Arc, with direct entry to the “World Cup of thoroughbreds” at stake.

The Arc Races offer a host of benefits for the entourage of the horses expected to run in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

The winners of the Arc Races will be awarded a wildcard for the Arc, providing they fulfil the conditions of this Grand Prix event. If the race is over-subscribed (maximum 24 runners), they will have a priority place and will be exempt from the elimination process.

What is more, France Galop will refund their entry fees (€8,300) or, for those that are not yet entered, will be given a 15-day window to enter their horse once entries have closed.

Please note that, this year once again, the winner of the Grand Prix de Paris will have their horse’s entry fees refunded or its additional fee waived for the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Horses that have not yet earned themselves a wildcard by next September will have a final chance to qualify at the Qatar Arc Trials event!
